Lay Witnesses for Christ International’s Board of Directors have unanimously endorsed its Presidents’ (Dr. Sam Mings, Sr.) recommendation to invite Jamaica’s Basil G. Smith J.P. to serve as a member of the Jamaican National Executive Committee for Lay Witnesses for Christ International outreaches in Jamaica.
Basil Smith has also been invited to a leadership role for Lay Witnesses for Christ International’s forthcoming eighth Summer Olympic Outreach. (Lay Witnesses for Christ is known as’ Chaplains to the World’s Olympians’ having led outreaches at past ‘7’ Summer Olympics…)
Basil Smith was so very strongly recommended to Dr. Sam & Sharon Mings on their recent visit to Jamaica and upon spending several hours with him – we readily saw he is simply a ‘Man of God of impeccable character’! He is married to married to Sydia for many wonderful years.
I believe in my spirit that the Lord is going to greatly elevate Basil Smith’s platform not only in Jamaica but throughout the world. He is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will be a Team Player as unto the Lord.
We look forward to serving him as unto the Lord as we do each of the Leadership God has orchestrated our way. His challenge is to enlist as many pivotal pastors who have a passion for men & women, boys & girls of Jamaica & the world to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
He also has the task of enlisting former Jamaican Olympians to serve as members of the ‘Stars For Christ’ team as well as encouraging current Jamaican Olympians to join with us at the Olympian Hospitality Center.
The Lord has orchestrated his footsteps our way for ‘such a time as this’… Basil Smith understands: “… if we’ll simply present all that we are to Him – He will provide all the ability to fulfill whatever task He orchestrates our way.”
