Lay Witnesses for Christ International’s Board of Directors have unanimously endorsed its Presidents’ (Dr. Sam Mings, Sr.) recommendation to invite Jamaica’s Rev. Devere Nugent to serve as Jamaican National Chairman and direct Jamaica’s participation for Lay Witnesses for Christ International’s forthcoming eighth Summer Olympic Outreach known as ‘Bridging The Gap 2012 London - England Olympics’.
Lay Witnesses for Christ is known as’ Chaplains to the World’s Olympians’ having led outreaches at past ‘7’ Olympics…
Devere Nugent was so very strongly recommended to Dr. Sam & Sharon Mings on their recent visit to Jamaica. At just 36 years of age – he is greatly admired in Jamaica as a leading Pastor & can work with all denominations & it was truly a blessing to look into his eyes & to see a ‘Man of God’ who truly wanted to simply be – all God would have him to be! He is married to Lisabeth and they have four children: Jordan; Joel;; Joye-Noelle and Jonar.
I believe in my spirit that the Lord is going to greatly elevate Devere Nugent platform throughout the world. He is not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will be a Team Player as unto the Lord.
We look forward to serving him as unto the Lord as we do each of the Leadership God has orchestrated our way. His challenge is to enlist as many pivotal pastors who have a passion for men & women, boys & girls of Jamaica & the world receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. He also has the task of enlisting former Jamaican Olympians to serve as members of the ‘Stars for Christ’ team as well as encouraging current Jamaican Olympians to join with us at the Olympian Hospitality Centre.
The Lord has orchestrated his footsteps to personally know Usain Bolt who in my opinion is the #1 Olympian in the world at this time as well as Usain’s mom & dad (Wellesley & Jennifer Bolt)…. Devere Nugent understands: “… if we’ll simply present ourselves available – HE will use us!”
