Many thousands of people are again expected to flock to Toowoomba this Easter to attend Easterfest, formerly known as the Australian Gospel Music Festival. Whilst the emphasis is still on music, organisers have moved in recent years to make it much more of a celebration of the central aspects of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Easterfest is considered to be the largest Christian event held in Australia. It caters for people of all ages with a variety of events spread across the three days of the Festival. Musicians performing include Paul Colman Trio, Audio Adrenaline, Naturally 7, Rebecca St.James, Thousand Foot Krutch, Matt Corby, Tyler Burkum and Fatis Valour. Speakers include Evie Tornquist (Music Legend), Jim Wallace (Australian Christian Lobby), Paul O'Rourke (Compassion Australia), Melinda Tankard Reist (Women's Forum Australia) and Mark Zschech (Social Entrepreneur).
The Australian Prayer Network will be taking a role in leading daily devotions and generally undergirding the Festival in prayer. 3 day passes are $95 per adult, $75 per child and $265 per family. Single day passes are also available.
Easterfest begins on Good Friday 10th April and concludes Easter Sunday 12th April. For more information go to http://www.easterfest.com/
