Manchester City remain 5 points clear of nearest rivals United after having the chance to go 7 points clear with a 1-1 draw away at Liverpool. City went down to 10 men and had chances however Liverpool also had a lot of play and were unlucky to only score 1 goal. Liverpool are still in the hunt for a champion’s league place and have some important matches leading up to Christmas.

United also only gained a point as they were held to an impressive Newcastle. Newcastle had only a few chances and put away a penalty that left United and Ferguson furious as Ferdinand did look to play the ball. Ba took the penalty to equalise after United scored early. United had many chances with Young guilty of missing many chances.

Chelsea ended their miserable run with a 3-0 thumping of Wolves. Terry opened the scoring and Sturridge also continued his impressive 1st season at Chelsea. Spurs also stayed in touch with the leaders with another 3 points this time at the hands of West Brom. Defoe was impressive as was Bale. Spurs are now within touch of 2nd position and look dangerous with many options all over the park.

In other matches, Villa and Swansea played out a scoreless draw whilst Wigan stole all 3 points away at Sunderland after a terrible mix up at the back. Arsenal couldn’t break down Fulham and were lucky to come away with a 1-1 draw and Everton picked up all 3 points on the road at Bolton. Norwich won the battle of the promotion sides with a 2-1 win over QPR whilst Stoke were too strong for Blackburn coming out 3-1 winners at home.
