The 11-year-old daughter of WEC church planters in the Middle East has handed out Jesus videos to her friends, after praying for such opportunities.
‘Eliza’ first gave a copy of the video to a close friend and then, upon seeing the interest shown by other children, prayed that God might provide further opportunities.
“This all started on the bus to school when the children found a Jesus video which belonged to the bus driver, and started talking about it,” said WEC church planter ‘Leanne’, Eliza’s mother.
“Eliza then took her closest friend a copy the next day and others were looking on jealously, so Eliza prayed that she would know which ones to give it to.”
Eliza was able to hand out six copies of the video to children at her school.
“One girl came back and said that her mother didn’t want her to have it but that she would watch it and then give it back,” said Leanne, “but she did not give it back!”
Leanne and husband ‘Neal’ continue to organise a ‘kids club’ in their home, with several children of non-believers regularly coming along.
The aunt of two girls attending has shown an interest in the Bible stories, while the family of two boys who attend have been reading the stories Leanne sends home.
“The 15-year-old aunty was just as interested in the story as anybody else, and had a discussion with me afterwards,” said Leanne.
“The father of the boys said that the six-year-old told his neighbour he really should get to know the prophet Isa (Jesus).”
Neal has been meeting with a Muslim friend, ‘Andrew’, and hopes to begin reading the bible with him soon.
“Neal just happened to visit him at a time when he was looking up out-of-body experiences on the web, which led to wonderful discussion,” said Leanne.
