“The Cre8 Business Leaders Conference, being held in Sydney on October 27th and 28th, gives all business owners the opportunity to look at how the business community can bring influence to the market place in the midst of such upheavals,” he said.
Peter is no stranger to crises, having gone through the airline pilot’s dispute and then the liquidation of Ansett in 2001.
“I have walked with God though these crises and found that He has unique provisions for us, including Biblical wisdom, supportive relationships, faith and prayer and Holy Spirit empowering,” Peter said.
“The most important thing in times of trial is to be close to God in every aspect of your life. Cre8 will grow your connectedness with God and his people in the marketplace when you need it most,” he said.
The Cre8 Conference is designed those who own or run businesses, influence decisions in business or who are involved in leadership.
It is also designed for civic, business and professional leaders and entrepreneurs to partner with their local churches to find their God given destiny in the marketplace.
“So many Christians are struggling in business and need to take a few days out to capture God’s heart for them individually as well as their business,” said Peter.
Michael Baer from the US, author of ‘Business as Mission’ will be one of Cre8’s 2011 keynote speakers. “We’re going to be talking about business as mission and the way it can impact Australia and the world beyond. I look forward to interacting with those who attend and showing them how they can connect business and career to what God is doing in the world,” said Michael.
Other keynote speakers include: Professor Graeme Clark, developer of the Bionic Ear. Amanda Wells, pastor, author and business leader. Peter Irvine, co-founder of Gloria Jeans Coffee and Karl Faase, senior pastor of Gymea Baptist Church.
Peter Kentley, conference organiser and founder of Australian Marketplace Connections said his vision is to encourage Christian business people to see their workplace as ‘His Mission’.
“This is a unique offering, its not about information, its rather about revelation, revealing to attendees how to live for God seven days a week in their business,” Peter said.
