Michelle Spencer tells of her experience at this year’s ALOVE national youth event, devotion, where 800 young people turned up at the Watford Colosseum.

Usually on a Saturday I wake up, have a lazy morning watching Dick and Dom, eat my toast and contemplate on how I shall spend these next precious 48 hours of my weekend. However last Saturday, I decided to ditch Dick and Dom and join hundreds of other young people from around the country in Watford to celebrate, worship, meet, greet and generally have a good time at one of the biggest Salvation Army youth events of the year ... 'Devotion'.

Having managed to locate the Watford Coliseum I walked through the grand doors and into the main hall where I was greeted by a buzz of activity filled with music blaring, lights zooming and people chattering and catching up with those who they hadn't seen for ages. From the first moment in that room the atmosphere was electric and there was a sudden flutter in my heart which reassured me that this was going to be a day to remember ...
