As the search for Madeleine McCann continues throughout Europe, Kate McCann returned to church to pray for her daughter safe return.
Kate McCann was not alone in praying for her daughter safe return. As Portuguese were praying for the 90th anniversary of the moment when the three children received a vision of the Virgin Mary, they were also praying for Madeline safe return to her parents, reported The Guardian Service.
At a special mass held at the Portuguese village, Gerry McCann, father of Madeline was reported by The Guardian as saying that the abduction of their daughter was like a ‘tidal wave,’ where the devastation was not only felt by her parents but also those they met after Madeline’s abduction.
Despite being left devastated by the abduction, Mr. McCann thanked those around them who remain strong. 'They have taken our strength and they are taking action.
These actions are to make Madeleine's disappearance more public in the hope that we will get her back sooner as a result. This also has given us great strength that we are doing everything in our power to help get Madeleine back,” reported The Guardian.
The Scotsman reported that a family friend read from Romans 8:31-39 during the vigil service, which spoke of the faith that had sustained the family during the past eight days. He read: “If God is for us, who can be against us? … Can anything cut us off from the love of Christ?”
