Reverend Dr. Mark Tronson, the Chairman of Well-Being Australia, told Christian Today Australia that ‘Faith Nights,’ large Christian rallies held before and after sporting events, would be a good evangelistic tool for the nation sport’s lovers provided if it is mainstream similar to that of the U.S.

Dr. Tronson, who also served as the Australian Cricket Chaplain for 22-years, continued saying that the critical component will be the focus of the event. If it was hardline Pentecostal, then most people would be turned off, he said, given that Australians liked balance.

“Yes, it works well in the US and it will come here,” he said. “The critical component will be the focus, if it is main stream as it is in the US it will bring a balanced approach with an evangelistic response, if it hardline Penetcostal, most but the diehard Pentecostals will turn off and it will seen as extreme. Australian's like balance.”

A Fairfax news publication recently reported that Third Coast Sports, a Nashville-based organisation linked to the Third Coast Artists which represents Christian music acts, was in discussion with the Australian Football League (AFL) and soccer teams about holding a similar event here, though it was still in a preliminary stage.
