The academic year of the United Theological College opens with a Service of the Word and the annual college lecture on Monday, February 20.

This year the worship is led by the Principal, Rev Assoc. Prof Clive Pearson, with the Moderator of the Uniting Church, Rev Brian Brown, preaching.

The annual college lecture will be delivered by Assoc Prof Gerard Moore. He will explore how a theology of the ‘royal priesthood’ of all believers contributes to questions of mission and leadership. The thrust of the lecture is to open up the meanings contained within this biblical phrase, uncover how they have been taken up in the life of the church, and ask what they offer as a template for contemporary mission and leadership.

The lecture is followed by question time, lunch, and discussion seminars for those who wish to pursue the topic further. All are welcome. The Opening Service of Word is scheduled for 10.00 am, with the lecture timed to commence at 11.30am.

RSVP’s to Joanne Stokes by 13 February on 8838-8914 or joannes@nsw.uca.org.au
